The most frequent furnace repairs involve issues with the thermostat, ignition system, air filters, and blower motors. These components are crucial for the proper operation of your furnace. Thermostats may require recalibration or replacement to ensure accurate temperature control. Ignition problems can prevent the furnace from firing up, necessitating repairs to the pilot light or electrical components. Clogged air filters restrict airflow, reducing efficiency and potentially causing furnaces and heat pumps to overheat. Lastly, blower motor issues can impede air circulation, leading to uneven heating.
A typical furnace can last between 15 to 20 years with proper maintenance. The lifespan of a furnace depends on the quality of the installation, the brand, and how well it has been maintained over the years. Regular maintenance checks can help identify and address minor issues before they escalate, potentially extending the life of your heating and cooling system beyond the average expectancy. If it is already time to get a new HVAC system installed, don’t hesitate to contact our professional team.
If your furnace is blowing cold air, it could be due to a variety of reasons, such as a thermostat set to ‘on’ instead of ‘auto,’ a blown pilot light, or overheating. When the thermostat is set to ‘on,’ the fan will continuously blow air through the vents, even when the furnace isn’t heating the air. A blown pilot light means the furnace, gas boiler, or heat pump can’t ignite the fuel to produce heat. Overheating can occur if the system is overworking, often caused by dirty air filters, and may trigger safety controls that shut off the burners.
Time for our annual air-conditioning service by All Seasons and the technician Andrew was absolutely outstanding. He was early in the to see us in the open service window. Very warm and personable. Ensured that we knew exactly what he would be doing as far as changing filters, etc and monitoring the system. When he finished, he showed me the invoice and all the steps he had taken to keep our air conditioning system up and running cleanly. Very neat and concerned about tracking anything into the home. Just a great experience. Andrew is excellent and should be commended for his fine service and knowledge. And the price was EXTREMELY reasonable.
